Assisting Pastor
When I was a child, stories were consistently shared around the table of family members who dedicated their lives to the work of ministry. My maternal grandfather was a pastor in Redmond; my paternal grandparents were missionaries in Côte d'Ivoire. Others pursued vocations through which they actively and intentionally sought to spread Christ’s light in the darkness. Growing up a Christian, I never really imagined that the Lord would bless me with the opportunity to serve him by working in ministry at a church, but I am incredibly thankful to be here!
Born and raised in the PNW, I love that I am able to call this place home. After graduating with a BA in History from Northwest University and an MA in Theological Studies from Regent College in Vancouver, I have spent the last few years teaching at a local Christian school. My academic interests are theology, American history, church history, and biochemistry.
I am married to Kjersten, the greatest gift God has given me. In our spare time, we enjoy hiking, road tripping, and attempting to cook or bake complicated dishes, desserts, and pastries. We spend far too much time watching baking competitions. I am a firm believer that Lord of the Rings is not only a fantastic story but also a theological work of art. I also believe that C.S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy might be better than The Chronicles of Narnia. Lastly, I am a huge sports fan. I will shamelessly wake up at two in the morning to watch important games from across the globe. And while the Seahawks are fun, the Mariners and Sounders will always be near and dear to my heart.
